Hanwell Methodist Church's Wednesday Club meets about
every month on a Wednesday evening at 8:00pm. The group
have a varied programme each year which consists of musical
evenings, entertainment, social gatherings, demonstrations,
talks and similar activities. Printed programmes are usually
available at the back of the Church in the display stands.

 

All are welcome to attend any of the meetings. If you require further information then please contact one of our stewards.

 

The current year's programme of activities up to the summer break in 2010 is published below. Most meetings start at 8:00pm and use our Centenary Room as the meeting venue.  Tea, coffee and other refreshments are served at each meeting.  There is usually a small charge of about 50p or £1 to cover the cost.

Some events such as a trip to the theatre or a barbeque may not be held in the Church or start at 8:00pm.  Details of imminent events are usually listed in the Church’s weekly newsletter HMC News.

Do you have an interest?

 

The Wednesday Club are always looking for guest speakers and demonstrators to invite to their social events.  If you have an interest that you would like to talk about, then please get in contact with one of the members.  You can find names and contact details in the Club’s printed programme available on the back pew shelf in Church.

A Recipe Swap Evening in the Centenary Room. Want to put on a few calories or perhaps take some off, then this could be the evening for you. You must have a favourite recipe so the Wednesday Club are asking you to bring it along with a sample if possible so that you can pass it onto someone else. In return they may give you one of their treats to try.

Should I really have to say that refreshments will be availabe at this event? A similar event was held last year and proved to be very popular. You didn't need tea before you went!

A Triangle Church Quiz Challenge when teams from St. Joseph's Church and St. Mellitus Church will be pitting their wits against the Methodists!
We'll need a strong team so please come and support us.

A Murder Mystery Evening. Don't know much about this - it remains a mystery, so why not join us to unravel it. Will we be a member less by the end of the evening? Come and find out.
Refreshments for those who survive.

A Line Dancing Evening. If you've never had a go then now's the chance. Spurs and cowboy hats not obligatory. Should help you keep fit and lose a few calories.  Check out the venue nearer the time - it may not be held in the Centenary Room.
Tea and coffee will be served - you'll probably need them!

A Trip to the Beck Theatre, Hayes for an Irish Dancing spectacular.  Capturing the true spirit of the Emerald Isle, Essence of Ireland is a breathtaking show of brilliant choreography, superb musicianship and dazzling costumes. Cost is £18 with £1.50 off for concessions.
Please contact the Wednesday Club Secretary as soon as possible to book a ticket.  Details about transport arrangements etc. will be available in the HMC News Church newsletter.

A Planning Meeting to determine the Wednesday Club's 2010/2011 programme of events. If you have got something to offer or a hobby or interest you would like to talk about, or even if you have got ideas of what items could be on the programme then you will be welcome to come along to the Centenary Room to add your contribution.
In exchange for your ideas, you could be offered tea, coffee and cake... and the Wednesday Club offer a very good cup of tea, coffee and cake.

End of Season Party to be held in the Centenary Room. Everybody is welcome. More details available later.
The group will be taking a break over the summer holiday season.
