Hanwell Methodist Church's Wednesday Club meets about
once every month usually on the second Wednesday of the
month in the evening at 8:00pm. The group have a varied
programme each year which consists of musical evenings,
entertainment, social gatherings, demonstrations, talks and similar activities. Printed programmes are usually available at the back of the Church in the display stands.


All are welcome to attend any of the meetings. If you require further information then please contact one of our stewards.


The current year's programme of activities up to the summer break in 2012 is published below. Most meetings start at 8:00pm and use our Centenary Room as the meeting venue.  Tea, coffee and other refreshments are served at each meeting.  There is usually a small charge of about 50p or £1 to cover the cost.

Some events such as a trip to the theatre or a barbeque may not be held in the Church or start at 8:00pm. Details of imminent events are usually listed in the Church’s weekly newsletter HMC News.

The Wednesday Club are always looking for guest speakers and demonstrators to invite to their social events.  If you have an interest that you would like to talk about, then please get in contact with one of the members.  You can find names and contact details in the Club’s printed programme available on the back pew shelf in Church.

A Talk about Iceland presented by our Minister, Rev. Michaela Youngson who ventured there last year.
Refreshments will be available to keep your energy levels up and keep you warm should Iceland appear to be a cold place to visit. We could also put the heaters on in the Centenary Room!

This is an extra evening squeezed in because the date is fixed by the event which is Songs from Musicals presented by The Gloc Theatre group. The venue will be Drayton Manor High School which is on Drayton Bridge Road, W7.

A talk and demonstration about Woodturning presented by Ray Garnett. Ray will be bringing along his lathe, woods, glues, tools, grinder, seals, polishers and dust extractor to provide an interesting talk and demonstration about the fasenating hobby he was introduced to at school. At the end of the evening he intends to auction what he makes for Church funds .
The venue is our Centenary Room. Refreshments will be served.

Ye Olde Christmas Evening Social in the run up to the Christmas break. A great social evening with a little fun thrown in. Please bring something of the past to the evening as well as something to share. Everyone is welcome.
For those who survive, refreshments will be provided.

A 2 for 1 Cinema Evening - the film and venue to be decided nearer the time.  Clearly this event will be held in a cinema. Contact the Club Secretary nearer the time or keep your eyes on the weekly Church newsletter HMC News for details.

A Recipe Evening when six people will be asked to prepare an item of food for others to sample.  An evening when there could be lots to eat, you won't need supper!
Refreshments guaranteed. The venue is the Church Centenary Room and everyone is welcome.

A Four Churches Quiz Night.  It's bigger and its better. In previous years it's been a couple of Churches but this time it will be a battle of wits between teams from St. Mellitus, Our Lady and St Josephs, St Christophers and Hanwell Methodist.
We'll be looking for our awsome team a little nearer the time. Please come and support us. The venue is the Church Centenary Room.

A Parchment and Beading Craft Evening hosted by two of our own Church members, Mary and Irene, will be held in the Centenary Room. Why not come and have a go? You can easily make something in a couple of hours.
All are welcome and refreshments will be served.

A Planning Meeting to determine the Wednesday Club's 2012/2013 programme of events. If you have got something to offer or a hobby or interest you would like to talk about, or even if you have got ideas of what items could be on the next season's programme then you will be welcome to come along to the Centenary Room to add your contribution.
In exchange for your ideas, you could be offered tea, coffee and cake... and the Wednesday Club offer a very good cup of tea, coffee and cake.

2012 Olympic Challenge Social Evening to be held in the Centenary Room. Everybody is welcome and refreshments will be served. Hopefully, it won't be too energetic!
